So Far Behind

I just want to apologize for being so unavailable for the last week or 2.  We’ve had some major set-backs as a family and I don’t think I’m depressed but just reflecting and re-evaluating.  I believe that God is good and has a master plan but it’s hard to see that when you’re right in the middle of it.  Stamping always has a place in my heart so I’ll be sharing with you some of the things I’ve made.

This card is done with a new stamp from our Occasions Mini coming out in January.  I used Poppy Parade and Tangerine Tango—love that combination.   I changed the Be My Valentine to Congratulations because I’m sending these out to my recruiters.

Story: Our 20 year old son lost a lot of the site in his left eye in November and the week after Thanksgiving, I got him in to the doctor.  He was sent immediately to an Opthalmalogist who told him he had Optic Neuritis: he didn’t think it was a tumor but could be MS.  Sent him for an MRI that Friday and by Monday we had the results—Tyler had lesions associated with MS on his brain.

This card was done with Glossy CS.  I brayered 2 colors of ink: melon mambo and pretty in pink onto the CS.  After the ink dried, I embossed the design with versamark and white embossing powder.  Isn’t it cool?

This past week we did a Lime test to rule out Lime disease and it did come back negative yesterday.  Guess that was the good news.  We are now waiting to see a Neurologist in January to hear ‘the rest of the story’.  One of the big stressors is that Tyler doesn’t have health insurance where he works and has been looking for a job with better benefits—although he’s been at this place for 10 years (yes, since he was a clean up boy at age 10).  So the costs of all the doctors and tests is stressing him and us  majorly.    Praise the Lord: Tyler’s eye check up on Wednesday showed that his site has improved some.  I’m praying it will continue to do so.  I will try to keep you posted as I get more info.   I’d appreciate your prayers for healing and understanding.

Here’s a cute purse that we’ve been doing for our workshops where little girls are attending.  Tash does this class with them while the mom’s stamp.  It uses the square and circle scallop dies and a lunch bag.  This is poppy parade and old olive.  Then she wheeled it with versamark and embossed, then used a gel pen to add swirls.  We glued the top on with sticky strip to ‘hold’.  Tash took our white satin ribbon and sponged one end poppy parade and the other end old olive.  It was a huge hit with the girls and their moms!  Here’s a side viewIMG_3586:

Now, off to finish shopping, bake pumpkin rolls and some cookies.

Oh, I didn’t tell you that the girls and I repainted the family room, hall and foyer!  Took us 5 days!  I’ll share pictures with you soon.

Hand-made Fabric Purse Fundraiser

IMG_3555 I just designed and made a few “jean” purses to raise some money for my son’s MRI.  Tyler, our 20 year old recently lost most of the vision in his left eye.  The doctors ordered an MRI and we’re hopeful but he had no insurance through his job and the cost is just a little overwhelming as most of you know.  Just got the MRI today so we have no results yet.

If you like any of these purses—great for Christmas gifts---just let me know to hold it for you!

They are all lined, some have pockets in the lining.  If you have any questions about one, please email me.

I’m asking for payment by check or cash so that I can donate as much as possible to him for his medical costs.   Email me that you want a particular one, and I’ll hold it til I get a check from you.

A. $45  This tan purse made with quilted style handles—over the arm style.  Lining is in the red fabric as well as the bottom.  Turned out to be our favorite one!  I hope you like!IMG_3540

B.  $45  This blue denim one was a skirt and has a lace around the bottom with sequins–also, I lined it with matching fabric for durability.  The inside is lined with this matching fabric.  Over the arm style with 2 handles. SOLDIMG_3544

C. $45 This tan purse sports a quilted handle in olive/tan tones

When I finished the one above in red, we loved it so much that we decided to look for another tan skirt—this one is corduroy—to do in green.  The lining is the paisley pattern and has one pocket.  The bottom is done in matching fabric. Over the arm style with 2 handles  SOLDIMG_3551

D. $35

This purse was made with a biker style mini skirt.  I searched awhile til I found appropriate fabric for this purse.  Decided on Bandana red!  This has one long, over the shoulder handle.  I think it turned out very cool!IMG_3542

E. $35  This skirt gave me the most trouble—It had camouflage fabric on the underskirt and I just couldn’t match it.  Finally settled on this blue plaid, changed the underskirt and love the look.  Long over-the-shoulder handle.  Skirt is loose and flowing.IMG_3554

F. $35  This purse was also made with a skirt and red,pink/and olive polka dot  material.  My daughter is liking this one alot!IMG_3552
