Prayer Journal

Sondra Jumper showed how she did the new Epic Day This and That Journal

This is her first one that she did for our Stampin' Up! Regional Event that was held in Baltimore.
Then she did this one for a class with her church ladies and they did it as a prayer journal.  It has 2 pockets with cards to send for encouragement then space for verses, prayer lists, answers to prayers and much more.

Crystal Effects

Debbie Paisie did a great demo...she showed how much fun crystal effects can be.  This look was created with a stamped piece of window sheet (must use stazon).
Turn it over and cover with crystal effects.  Then drip some ink colors on it and smoosh them around a bit with a sponge dauber but don't make too muddy.  Then crumple a piece of cheap tissue paper and lay in the crystal effect mixture then press a piece of white cardstock down and let it sit over night.
Then she did this cute veil with the Mixed Bunch stamp set.

Oval Accent Bigz Die--Re-imagined

I learned this tea pot card from Colleen Magness!  I went home and bought the die immediately.  You will too so here's the number:  #127005  Oh, and you just need to click HERE to order.
So here's the first thing I made and it ended up being our make and take project:
oh, I guess I should tell you how I did it!  Cut a piece of cardstock 4 1/4" X 9" and fold in half at 4 1/2...place that fold across the die (where the black line is).  Once you cut it, then just cut off one of the top pieces....same spot as where the fold went, just at other end.  That leaves you with the open front or back and becomes your spout!  Is that cool or what?

 Oval Accent Die #127005
Then I did a pink one.....

Then Lynne started playing with the die and wow!  Now you really need to buy it!

this one looks like a little purse
This one could be a little Easter basket
A candy jar favor, or for a tea party, it could be the sugar jar as a favor

another similar idea

Seriously, you will use this for so many different things so you might as well get it now!

Swatch Books of Designer Paper

DESIGNER SERIES SWATCH BOOKS

You'll want to get your hands on a set of these!  Each swatch book is 3X61/4" and includes the 6 design sheets in each set of 12X12 designer series paper sets.  The papers, as always are just incredible and I want you to be able to see them and use them.
Here's a picture of 4 of the 13 that you'll receive.

One of the best ways to actually use your DSP is to have it in front of you so that you can see it when you are creating but with these swatch books, you don't have to pull out that big stack of paper to decide which you want to use.

Here are details in a more organized way:
  • A set consists of 11 DSP swatch books and 2 Specialty DSP swatch books.
  • A DSP swatch book measures 3″ x 6-1/2″.
  • A DSP swatch book contains each of 6 patterns, staggered by 1/4″ for easy viewing.
  • A DSP swatch book is held together with a coordinating color of card stock.
  • Each DSP swatch book is labeled with the name of the DSP on the front and is labeled with the product number, a list of the colors featured in the DSP on the back
  • A set of swatch books can be yours for $17 and includes FREE shipping
  • If you are a club member, hostess in the past 12 months, or attend monthly classes regularly, you can request yours for only $12...just email me to order.

Not sure yet why you'd want them?
  • How many times do you look at your stack of DSP and think, "When am I ever going to use that?".

  •  How many times have you needed a DSP to coordinate with a card or scrapbook page? No more flipping through stacks of DSP! These books are a perfect reference guide for the DSPs while you are creating beautiful projects.
  • The staggered pages make it easy for you to flip through the colors and patterns.
  • The books are small enough – they won’t ever get in the way.
  • You don't have to wonder what matches, the coordinating colors are on the back of each swatch.

Joyful Heart Stampers June Meeting

 Fun treats (these by Tash)
 Awards!
 Demos
 Make and Takes
the inside of this album looks something like this...forgot to take a picture of my inside and gave it as a gift to my sister cause it had all her families pictures in it!

More than just a Dress Pop-Up!

Okay, so I  promised my Joyful Heart Gals that I'd post lots of pics from our last meeting and Stamp Fest.  So, there will be several posts with demo projects, make and takes and more.  Hope you enjoy.

This first post is Lynne Peter's demo using the Stampin' Up! Big Shot Dress Form Dies and framelits. She did a great job!

Then we decided to make these little favors for on the table.  They hold a Hershey's Nugget.  The dress is just made by cutting a piece of DSP 2 3/4 X 6 (twice the height of the framelit), fold in half where the shoulder is.  then just make sure that you put the fold inside the cutting line (so it doesn't cut off the fold).  Box is 2 1/2 X 3. Score on Simply Score at 3/4 inch all the way around, clip in one score line on each corner and glue.  Then the dress is just glued to the front and back of the box.  I used Tombow multi glue (I call it green glue)

Okay, so I can't remember if I showed you this Paper Doll Kit I made for my nieces (Hard to give it away tho, it was so much fun!)

I like to sew and I used to design my own dresses so I think this take me back!
